You Are Not Behind

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.” – 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)

Devotional Message- Day 23

Have you ever looked around and thought, “I should be further along by now?”

Spiritually. Emotionally. In your healing. In your habits.
You see others quoting Scripture, journaling daily, living with peace… and you wonder if you’re stuck or falling behind.

But here’s the truth:
You are not behind. You’re on a journey.
And God is not in a hurry.

His pace for you is personal, not pressured.
His process is patient, not panicked.
And His timeline is full of grace, not comparison.

2 Peter reminds us that God’s “slowness” is never a delay—it’s intentional love.
So if your progress feels slow, it might actually be right on time.

God is more interested in your transformation than your speed.
You are not being timed. You are being tended to.

Reflection Prompt

Have you been comparing your growth to someone else’s timeline? What might God be doing in your life that takes time to bloom?

Prayer

Lord, remind me that I’m not behind. You’re growing things in me that take time. Help me trust Your pace and stop comparing my progress to others. Let me rest in the grace of right now. Amen.

Closer Still – Action Step

Write down one area where you’ve felt “behind.” Next to it, write this truth: “God is not late. He is leading me in love.” Keep it visible this week as a reminder to stay in grace, not hurry.
