Devotional Message- Day 24
We often expect to find God in the big moments—worship services, breakthroughs, deep revelations. But what about the ordinary?
The dishes. The laundry. The drive to work. The waiting rooms. The quiet Tuesday afternoon.
Jacob was asleep on a rock in the middle of nowhere when he realized: “God was here… and I almost missed it.”
The presence of God isn’t limited to church buildings or quiet times.
He’s in the background noise.
He’s in the morning light.
He’s in the breath you’re taking right now.
If you’re always looking for fire-from-heaven moments, you might miss the gentle whisper in the mundane.
What if your coffee cup became a communion cup?
What if your commute became a conversation?
What if your to-do list became a chance to practice presence?
God is in the ordinary.
And when you notice Him there—everything becomes sacred.
Reflection Prompt
What “ordinary” part of your day might actually be a place where God is trying to meet you? How would your mindset shift if you saw it as sacred?
Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to Your presence in the ordinary. I don’t want to miss You in the simple moments. Help me live each day aware that You are near—even in the mundane. Amen.
Closer Still – Action Step
Choose one ordinary task today (laundry, dishes, drive, etc.) and invite God into it. Pray. Reflect. Listen. Smile. Make space in the middle of the mundane to meet with Him.
