When the Bible Feels Dry
Spiritual dryness isn't a sign of failure — it's an invitation to press in differently.

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law. — Psalm 119:18 (NIV)
You open the Bible… and nothing stirs. No lightbulb moment. No warm feeling. Just ink on a page. And you wonder: "What's wrong with me? Why does this feel so dry?"
Broken, empty, or silent.
Spiritual dryness is part of every believer's journey.
Sometimes we expect emotional fireworks. But faith grows not just in the aha! moments — but in the faithful, ordinary ones.
Ask God to open your eyes, not just your mind
Slow down — read smaller portions
Meditate on one verse instead of whole chapters
Ask, "God, what are You saying to me here?" and wait
The same God who met you in the highs
will meet you in the quiet valleys —
where faith is formed, roots go deep,
and the Word works even when you don't feel it.
Have you experienced spiritual dryness while reading the Bible? What helped you stay consistent or reconnect during that time?
Lord, sometimes Your Word feels distant or hard to connect with. But I believe it's still alive. Open my eyes. Refresh my heart. Let me fall in love with Your Word again. Amen.
Choose one short passage today — maybe just a verse or two. Read it slowly. Write it out, reflect on it, and ask:
"God, what do You want me to see or carry from this today?"Let's Talk
