💭 Commentary
This is one of the most quoted verses in Scripture, but it's also one of the most misunderstood. It doesn't say that all things are good. It says God works all things together for good. There's a massive difference. The painful thing you're walking through right now isn't good. The betrayal, the loss, the disappointment, the struggle, it's not good. But God is so powerful and so purposeful that He can take even the worst circumstances and weave them into something that ultimately serves His good purposes in your life.
Notice the verse doesn't promise this for everyone. It's specifically for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. This isn't a magic formula or a cosmic insurance policy. It's a promise to those who are in relationship with God, who trust Him, and who are committed to His purposes even when life doesn't make sense. When you love God and align your life with His calling, you can have confidence that nothing is wasted. Not the pain, not the waiting, not the failures, not the closed doors. God is working all of it together for your ultimate good.
Here's what this means practically. You're going through something hard right now, and you can't see how anything good could possibly come from it. That's okay. You don't have to see it. You just have to trust that God sees it. He's not surprised by what you're facing. He hasn't lost control. And He's already working behind the scenes to bring purpose from your pain. The good He's working toward might not look like what you expected, but it will be good because God defines what good actually is. Trust the process even when you can't see the outcome.

🙏 Prayer
"God, I'm in the middle of something that doesn't feel good at all, and I'm struggling to believe anything good can come from it. But Your Word promises that You work all things together for good for those who love You. I love You, Lord. I'm called according to Your purpose. So I choose to trust that You're working even when I can't see it. Help me to surrender this situation to You and believe that You're weaving it into something beautiful for Your glory and my good. Give me patience to wait and faith to trust Your process. Amen."
